How to use the Head x4 Pump Pressurizer:

• After the training session, put your tennis or padel balls in the tube, seal with the O-ring first and then screw on the supplied cap to the mark.
• Remove the valve cover. Then attach the air pump nozzle to the valve. Pump with the pressure gauge up to 30 PSI. Remove the nozzle and replace the valve cap. Leave the balls in the tube.
• When it is time for the next training session and you are going to use the balls again: release any excess air through the valve plug (the red plug) before opening the cap. Recommendation: try out what works for you in terms of pressure on the balls.
• Read the instructions for the product thoroughly.

Note:

This ball pump will extend the life of your tennis ball and padel ball but your balls will need to be replaced after a while as the felt wears as usual which of course affects the ball quality. Most players who use a ball pump experience that the balls last 2-3 times longer than without. But it is individual what you require for the quality of your ball, both in terms of pressure but also the felt.

If you play on clay, make sure to brush off your balls before putting them in the tube. Make sure to clean the tube from time to time. Do not drop your pipe or nozzle into the ground and do not subject it to strong impacts. Take good care of the pump. The more you take care of your ball pump, the longer it will last.

Brief information on pressure and PSI:

A new ball (pressurized ball) is about 25-29 PSI (PSI=pounds per square inch). Tennis balls are higher in the PSI range than padel balls as padel balls should be a little softer than tennis balls. When a new ball is removed from its original tube (which is pressurized), the ball will start to lose pressure (you could say it leaks pressure) because our atmospheric pressure has significantly lower PSI than the ball. A ball pump such as the Head x4 Pump Pressurizer will ensure that the pressure of the balls is maintained for longer by keeping the balls at a higher pressure between training sessions. The ball will therefore not leak pressure as its surroundings inside the tube have a high pressure.
